Who We Are

Lucia Raatma

Lucia is our Chief Editor, SEO and content writer. Her social media mission is to provide interesting and engaging content to our clients and keep the rest of the writers at their best by editing every piece to perfection.
Before joining the Ballywho team, Lucia worked in the book and magazine publishing industry for 15 years as a copy editor, managing editor, and author of educational books. She is a history buff and quite the prolific writer! She has published around 50 children’s books ranging from textbooks, histories, character education and fiction. Her interesting and diverse personality shines through both her blog and microblog writing and she has truly perfected the art of finding the perfect post for each and every client.
When she isn’t busy writing, Lucia enjoys attending Tampa Bay Lightning games with her family and is an avid Tampa sports enthusiast.

Nitsa DeVore

Nitsa is our Web and Metrics Manager, fixer of technical things, and resident cheese-lover. She is the mind behind Ballywho Cares and, subsequently, our captain of digital activism.
Nitsa was born a Walloon (french-speaking Belgian from Wallonia) and has a strong love for cheese, tea, stitching, historical-fiction and Poodles. She is currently the proud owner of a Schnoodle she rescued name Dobby–did we mention she’s a huge Harry Potter fan?
She proudly volunteers with HandsOn Tampa Bay, contributes her skills to various non-profits based in Africa and devours books like there’s no tomorrow. Her activities are inspired by her two main passions in life; improving the lives of others and learning as much as she can about the world around her.

Sarah Torrens

Sarah is one of our amazing Staff Writers that is dedicated to finding just right words to use for our numerous clients. She is a Tampa native with a penchant for writing and delivering on quality content to use for our clients’ blogs and microblogs.
After a brief post-college stint doing retail sales for a technology manufacturer, she decided that the mall just wasn’t for her anymore and found her place in the Ballywho family where she enjoys dabbling in the office shenanigans. She loves the beach, photography, and preparing for her upcoming wedding.
When she isn’t busy posting to Facebook or spending time on Twitter, she can be found outside running along Bayshore Avenue enjoying the sights and sounds of Tampa Bay.

Caroline Jorgensen

Caroline is a proud member of the Ballywho Staff Writing team. Her attention to detail and love for sculpting words into coherent (and enjoyable!) paragraphs is truly an artwork. Her incessant smile and insatiable positivity around the office is also a welcoming respite from the oftentimes daily drudgery of constant content production.

A self-proclaimed “Mommy Blogger,” Caroline joined the Ballywho team with an already avid following in the blogosphere with her award-winning blog MorningSideMom.com. Aside from her work with Ballywho, Caroline has also done freelance writing for several national retailers and numerous online publications.

After growing up in various places around the world thanks to being the daughter of a foreign service officer, she loves her current life as a mother of two and all the accompanying trials and tribulations.

Ashley Ray

Ashley is our Community Manager and is tasked with monitoring our clients’ social accounts. She keeps her eyes and ears glued to the social universe to make sure that our clients’ reputations are being protected and responds accordingly to any chatter. She helps establish and build the social networks of our clients by reaching out and connecting with others in the online social community.  Ashley is truly a “Jill” of all trades and on any given day can be found as a writer for microblogs, a community manager, or a strategist on our “Brain Trust” committee.
When she’s not busy tweeting away or becoming the mayor of yet another destination on FourSquare, Ashley lives and breathes all things baseball and beer. She and her husband are avid home brewers whose intoxicating concoctions may soon be hitting it big.

She also maintains her own blog about the anthropology of baseball Home Plate Like Home where she shares her musings about America’s pastime.

Kay Bennett

Kay is Ballywho’s Business Manager and resident mother-in-chief. She takes care of everything from payroll, to collecting and paying bills, to managing our supplies, to answering phones and everything in between. Her spunkiness and sassiness help keep things light around the office and she always makes sure to keep us all on our toes. She is the friendly voice of Ballywho and the gatekeeper to our internal processes.
Kay loves playing around on Facebook, keeping tabs on her friends and family, and recently joined the Twittersphere where her notorious quips and one-liners have found a home. She loves everything about India, traveling and trying out new places and activities.

Kay helps keep us all young with her zany office antics while simultaneously somehow manages to make sure everything in the office functions smoothly and successfully.
